2024 is set to be a big year for the gaming industry. Be it in terms of new game titles as well as remakes of past hits. The year promises some of the most amazing remakes and remasters that one can look forward to.
These include titles ranging from PlayStation 2 classics such as Max Payne and Metal Gear Solid 3 to PC hits that contributed to bringing gaming further into the mainstream. Although some titles have been announced, there could be more coming in the year going forward.
Here are some of the remakes coming in 2024:
Persona 3 Reload – February 2
Persona 3 Reload is arriving on PC and console. The game is being entirely remade in Unreal Engine 5, thus it will include stunning new visuals, tweaked gameplay similar to Persona 5, as well as extra content for anyone looking to try out this remake.
Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered – February 14
While any news about the next Tomb Raider game from Crystal Dynamics remains unknown, players can look forward to the definitive bundle of the first three Tomb Raider games. Almost 30 years later, players will be able to experience the adventures of Kyle Katarn once again as he joins the Rebel Alliance and infiltrates the Empire in Star Wars: Dark Forces remaster.
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake – February 28
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons arrived over 10 years ago and now fans can once again experience the game thanks to the remake set to release on February 28, 2024. Avantgarden will be handling the project this time around, instead of the original studio Starbreeze.
Besides, this time the game will use the prettier Unreal Engine 5 glow-up as well as local two-player co-op.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth – February 29
The next chapter in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy titled Rebirth is going to be an even bigger deviation from the source material. It takes place directly after the events of the Final Fantasy VII Remake and will end at a crucial moment in the storyline. The game will witness the debut of Cid and Vincent Valentine, as well as include a trip to fan-favorite locations such as the Gold Saucer. Additionally, the gameplay is also enhanced.
Lollipop Chainsaw: RePOP – Summer 2024

Beyond Good and Evil – 2024
After over two decades since Beyond Good and Evil’s first launch, the game is finally getting a sequel. Ubisoft is preparing to bring back this beloved sci-fi adventure to modern speed. Notably, the original Xbox listing for the remaster has been deleted, however, it is said that this remake will support 4K and 60fps visuals, upgraded audio, and improved controls. It is expected to arrive in 2024.
Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD – Summer 2024
A decade after Luigi returned to his part-time job as a paranormal exterminator on Nintendo 3DS, the plumber’s first sequel, Dark Moon, is finally getting ported to the Switch in 2024. Luigi’s Mansion 2 expands the scope of the original game by landing the plumber in five different locations that are full of pesky spooks. He will go from spreading the terror from a haunted mansion to an abandoned factory, research lab, and more in this game.
