SUMMARY
- The Finals is a PvP phenomenon on Steam, being in the top 10 most played games at all times.
- The Finals' medium build characters have access to an ability called Recon Senses that makes enemies visible through walls.
Developed by Embark Studios, The Finals is a free-to-play shooter game. It is a first-person perspective shooting game that puts focus on team matches. The game is set in a destructive environment and the players can use it to their own advantage to assist their gameplay.
Players in The Finals just like other RPGs can create and control their own build. They can then use these builds in the gameplay and complete the missions and tasks the game has to offer. In The Finals, the players have many builds at their disposal that can be created. Each of these builds is unique in its true sense as they all come with their own set of pros and cons.
In the medium builds of The Finals, players can lay hands on the Recon Sense. The Recon Sense does share some familiarity with the Tracking Dart. The Recon Senses when used by the players will highlight their enemies through walls. This comes very handy when the player tries to locate their enemies in a particular area. The Recon Sense however has a working limit and becomes weak when the enemy is far.
The Finals to nerf the Recon Senses
Despite the advantages of the Recon Senses, fans have constantly criticized it. The main problem stems from the fact that the Senses are unbalanced and need some tweaks to it. Recon Senses is an ability that can only be used for a fixed time and comes with a cooldown. Yet players have discovered that the Senses can be used in a way that practically gives them unlimited access to its abilities.
However, as a surprise to the fans, in The Finals’ latest update, they nerfed many weapons but left out the most requested Recon Senses.
This makes it extremely difficult for other players to counter this because of its extremely useful ability and almost constant usability. According to fans, while players in other FPS games must employ cheats or hacks to gain this kind of capability, The Finals just hands it over to the players.
However, it now seems that Embark Studios has taken note of its community feedback. Dusty Gustafsson who is the Customer Support Lead of Embark Studios has come forward to address this issue.
Gustafsson during a Q&A regarding the upcoming Update 1.5.5 on the game’s Discord Server addressed it. Dexerto asserts that a fan asked Gustafsson to remove the Recon Senses. He went on the answer the fan by saying, “Changes coming next week’s update”.
He did not dive into the details of the changes that may come to the Recon Senses. However, players of The Finals who rely heavily on the Recon Senses should get prepared for it to be nerfed in some way or the other.
