Bethesda recently released the biggest update so far in its latest release Starfield. The developer had announced the ‘big’ update and after delaying it a couple of days after its scheduled release, patch 1.9.47.0 was finally released the anticipated Starfield update in Steam Beta.
This new 1.9.47.0 patch update introduces massive changes and adjustments to the game, which has been reviewed negatively by some and even been review-bombed. Nonetheless, the game also won a couple of awards and was even named among Steam’s highest-grossing games amidst much controversy. Most of these changes primarily focus on quality-of-life improvements for the spacefaring RPG.
Starfield’s latest update
Developers Bethesda Softwares announced that the long-waiting update to the game released on September 6, 2023, features over a hundred fixes and adjustments. The update finally arrived on Steam Beta on January 18, 2024.

Bethesda had initially announced that the update would launch on January 17, 2024. However, the developer revealed to the players via X on January 16 that due to some unexpected errors, the update would be delayed and it would be released in a few days.
The update arrived just a day after the originally announced release date. The latest Starfield update 1.9.47.0, features multiple new fixes and improvements, including fixes to invisible animals and creatures on certain planets. It also fixed the issue that prevented Windows users from saving their usernames, among several other changes.

Controls and course enemies:
- Some planets have fixed completely invisible creatures.
- Fixed the issue wherein enemies would stand instead of falling over.
Additions, Responses, and Companies.
- Fixed crew members and companions standing near the cockpit after traveling very fast to ship.
- Fixed a possible control-lock while talking to one of the companions without joining in an interview while simultaneously trying.
General
- The problem that prevented Windows users from saving even in memory of their username was fixed.
- A rare problem that caused uneasy access to the main menu when asked “Press any button in the launch box” (Xbox) was fixed.
- The Body type will not reset to normal anymore when loading Starborns from the main menu.
- The flickering on Neon’s elevator panel was fixed.
- Improved the appearance of the Ryujin Kiosk material during nighttime.
- The rare issue with how Cydonia’s panel could display the hours without incident was fixed.
- Optimizations to cloud syncing of save games (MSS/Xbox) were added.
- Crowds behaviour when the desired target is reserved was improved
- An issue that could cause airlock doors to sometimes appear floating in sky when arriving at locations was fixed.

- Widescreen support was improved(32:9, 21.09 and 16-10)
- Support for stars with sun disk geometry was added.
- Shadows are now visible on Earth rings off the surface of Earth.
- Eye-tosh and heaval on crowd characters improved.
- Reflexion on water had been improved.
- To achieve better contact shadows on character skin (Xbox and PC’ Medium, High Ethlyet>).
- In comparison to the figures (Cocal/Ultra).

- A rare missing terrain issue that could occur after fast traveling to New Atlantis is fixed

- A rare problem, that could mean the phased time power would still be enabled was fixed.
- The extreme speed that could occur in zero G is fixed with the Phased Time power.

- SURVEYING: Fixed surveying issue progress in the area of mineral resources.
- TARGETING READING PROGRAMMES: Fixed inconsistencies with level 3 and 4.
Weapons and Items
- Fixed incorrect reload amounts that would occur when consuming a Trauma Pack.
- Fixed FOV and zoom issues that existed with weapon scopes.
- Fixed weapon sound effects that occasionally continue to play after killing an enemy.
- Fixed turret state not being restored correctly after a save and load.
- Fixed an issue that caused the helmet light to not reappear in the third person after a save and load.
