SUMMARY
- Former Swedish national champion Khamzat Chimaev accepted a wrestling bout against a YouTuber Muhammad Hijab.
- Hijab and Chimaev wrestled in a very small space and even pushed the host off the stage.
Highly accomplished wrestler Khamzat Chimaev went toe-to-toe against a 6 ft 7 public speaker Mohammed Hijab in a friendly wrestling bout. The pair wrestled during a charity event in Birmingham when they were called upon by the host.
The friendly bout, however, did not seem completely friendly as they almost pushed the host off-stage in the first few seconds. The size of the stage and the overall difficulty to wrestle on it became a cause of concern for fans.
The charity event was organized to promote donations for the people of Palestine. Public speaker Hijab was introduced as the ‘undisputed world talking champion’. Meanwhile, Chimaev, a public supporter of Palestine, heard his extraordinary professional MMA record of 13-0 highlighted as well. The pair were called upon for an exhibition wrestling bout for the attendees to enjoy.
The pair did a customary face-off and got straight into it. There was barely any space on the stage but Chimaev managed to pull off a takedown and register the win. Although the pair was laughing throughout, their fight seemed to be serious. Fans were worried it could have led to something horrendous. One fan wrote, “So many things could have gone wrong.”

Another fan wrote, “That guy’s an idiot. Taking it that hard to a trained fighter in a public place. He’s lucky Khamzat was in the mood otherwise he would get mopped.”
According to a Reddit post, Hijab weighs 260 lbs. One fan was delighted to see Chimaev take down a heavyweight and gearing up to see him face UFC Heavyweight champion Jon Jones. They wrote, “I’ve seen enough Khazmat vs Jones 2024.”
It should not be surprising to see Chimaev achieve the takedown. The Chechen-born fighter is a three-time Swedish national freestyle wrestling champion.
