The La Liga club FC Barcelona are going through a rough patch of form this season. The club managed by the Spanish manager Xavi (also known as Xavier Hernandez), is performing well below the expectations. They have dipped below the standards set by them in the previous seasons.
FC Barcelona has managed just five victories in their last 10 outings in La Liga. With this below-average run of form, they have slipped to the fourth spot in 2023-2024’s La Liga table. The performances expected from the levels of players that Barca possess aren’t quite there.
The team bolsters big names like – Robert Lewandowski and Joao Felix. But, the opposition teams have managed to keep them quiet for large portions of the games. Rubbing salt into the wounds of the club’s hierarchy, a report regarding their chances of winning the La Liga this season has surfaced.

A post by ‘Barca Universal’ on ‘X‘ has been published. It states that the data-driven platform Opta Analyst has predicted a 2% chance of Barca winning the La Liga this season. Considering the club’s poor onfield showing recently, it can be inferred that the analysis has taken all of it into their conclusion.
The majority of the team’s below-par performances this season have come when they were expected to win easily. The 27-time La Liga winners have especially struggled against the teams that are below them in the standings. Fans of the club would hope that their manager Xavi would soon be able to fix the issues at the club.
Xavi on FC Barcelona’s below-par performances and the poor run of form
Barca recently suffered a surprising defeat by Royal Antwerp in the group stage of the Champions League. Before this loss the team also was outplayed in a 2-4 loss to La Liga rivals Girona at home. With such poor results and below-par performances, pressure has been mounting on the club’s manager Xavi.
As per the reports, the manager recently broke his silence. He spoke about the club’s current situation. The 43-year-old stated – “It’s time to be composed, calm, and regain confidence. I believe in the project more than ever and we are united”, the veteran manager further expressed.
Regarding the club’s recent performances, he asserted – “We got the league (La Liga), it’s true that we have to improve and add more,” he inserted by mentioning the other competitions of Super Cup and Copa Del Rey. The manager further stated that Barca is “the most complicated club” in the soccer world.
The statement was a part of his frustration for not being praised for finishing at the top of their Champions League group H. However, with the capability and confidence that the 43-year-old manager possesses, it won’t be a surprise for the soccer fans, if he quickly manages to turn around the current fortunes of his club.
