Void Interactive’s first-person tactical shooter game, Ready or Not, will finally hit the shelves after two long years of testing. The game will finally be leaving early access in mid-December 2023. It will be followed with the official launch of the game.
The game is set in a fictional city of California wherein players take the role of SWAT police officers who are responsible for investigating and busting illegal operations happening in the city. The early access phase of Ready or Not began almost two years ago on December 18, 2021.
Ever since the developers have used the period to make numerous additions and improvements to the game. These include the addition of new weapons, maps, as well as mod support.
When is Ready or Not releasing?
Void Interactive, the developer recently released a trailer to confirm the official release date of the first-person shooter game. The game will be released on December 13, 2023, after two years of testing and adding features. During the early access, the game witnessed several optimization problems and bugs.
With feedback from fans, the devs made frequent quality-of-life updates. As a result, the developers have finally been successful in striking a balance between an enjoyable gameplay experience and realism.
After frequent optimization of issues, bugs, and glitches in the game, the August 2022 update peaked the improvisations. Since then the game greatly improved its compatibility with a wide range of systems which is why it is now compatible with previous-generation hardware including Xbox One and PS4.
Ready or Not Update 1.0 Features and Improvements
Below are the features and improvements available in Ready or Not Update 1.0:
- 12 unique SWAT teammate voices and over 18,000 lines of dialogue.
- Issuing commands to online teammates in the multiplayer mode.
- More intelligent teammate positioning.
- More realistic team movement letting squadmates avoid trampling over fallen NPCs and environmental objects.
- Brand new formations under the Fall In command, namely, Single File, Double File, Diamond, and Wedge.
- Newer individual teammate commands added such as swapping places with a teammate made possible and clearing a room without backup.
- Non-lethal deployment commands include taser, pepper spray, pepperball, beanbag, melee.
- Breaching and clearing mechanics overhauled. This includes addition of new subcommands such as battering ram, launcher, and leader, as well as realistic threat awareness such as teammates no longer overextend while clearing rooms and have a better understanding of their surroundings.
- Significantly improved stack-up point placement.
- Trailers will apprehend suspects and bag evidence after missions.
- Continued mod support such as all of the new features will work on user-created maps.
In addition to this, players can expect the addition of more realistic threat awareness, such as having teammates be wary of open doors and hiding spots. The 1.0 version of the game will include the controversial school shooter mission due to which the game to lose its publisher back in 2021. Nonetheless, that level has now been re-imagined as a college campus.
