A lot of noise has been surrounding Luis Suarez and his future. The famous MLS team Inter Miami CF, owned by the renowned soccer player David Beckham is trying to unite former FC Barcelona stars Suarez and Messi at his club and has been trying for his signature from the 2023-24 summer transfer window.
However, after a year-long pursuit of the veteran striker, it looks like this deal may be well and truly happening as early as in the January transfer window. Manager Renato Gaucho of Gremio has declared that the team’s final game with Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez will take place on December 3.

Speaking to the reporters Gaucho said regarding Suarez, “Are we going to miss him? Certainly, without a doubt, he is very loved by everyone,” Gaucho said ahead of Suarez’s final match. “I had the pleasure of working with a great professional, one of the best in the world, fourth highest scorer in the world. This void will remain for the next year because it’s not easy to find someone of his talent and ability.”
Suarez, who has been expected to leave the team for months, is now in contention to rejoin his close companion Lionel Messi at Inter Miami in Major League Soccer. With 26 goals in 51 games, the striker is the kind of player Gaucho wishes he could have continued with the team.
Gremio rejected a move for Luis Suarez from Inter Miami in the 2023-24 summer transfer window
Inter Miami CF had been signing former Barcelona players in their squad such as Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba. A player that they had been targeting was a veteran striker and former Barcelona player Luis Suarez, who plays for Gremio Fc in the Brazilian league.
Unlike the other former Barca signings that Inter Miami made, getting Suarez was always a tough task for Gremio that they would face. Eventually, that is exactly what went down, Inter Miami’s move for Luis Suarez was rejected by Gremio FC in the 2023-24 summer transfer window.

He has been since his arrival,” Gaucho said. “He always makes the difference. I have spoken before about the soap opera, but that soap opera ended yesterday. It’s over,” said Gremio boss Gaucho.
Luis Suarez has always been a top professional and he did not misbehave with Gremio or anyone in the club after his move fell through. Instead, he understood the club’s decision and got on with his duties as a professional soccer player for Gremio FC.
