Jordan Travis transferred to FSU in December of 2018. He has been given second-team All-ACC honors and was also named the Cheez-It Bowl MVP in 2022. Two Alabama players converged in a tackle on Travis, and his leg was stuck in an awkward angle. His leg was completely bent, and he had to be carted off the field immediately after staff placed an air cast on his leg.

Florida State head coach Mike Norvell addressed the situation and said it was difficult for the team as Jordan Travis is a crucial part. He said it’s always difficult to cope when a player is injured, but even more so when a leader like Travis goes down. Nevertheless, he was proud of his boys for delivering a top-notch performance and getting the win.
“Jordan is so important to this team, not just as the quarterback but just who he is and what he stands for,” Norvell said. “So when you see a player get hurt without really knowing what that’s going to be, it’s emotional for everybody. I thought our guys were able to gather themselves and just continue to play, and I thought a lot of guys played at a very high level and were there and in support of what was needed.”
Even with Jordan Travis missing, Florida State managed to secure the win as they beat North Alabama 58-13. Tate Rodemaker, who is the FSU backup quarterback, took the field in place of Travis. He recorded 217 passing yards along with two touchdowns.
