Manchester United’s abysmal start to the season continues as Manchester City secured a 3-0 victory over the Red Devils at Old Trafford. The misery for Manchester United was piled on when a hilarious new chant by their local rival went viral on social media.
Manchester City fans cruised past United with a dominant second-half display. Another brace from Erling Haaland was enjoyed by the traveling supporters of City who sang a new chant at the away end at Old Trafford.
The lyrics of the chant went like: “Old Trafford is falling down, ten Hag is a f*cking clown, Glazers staying 10 more years, Manchester City are on the beers.” The embarrassing chant was sung in unison by the supporters, who summed up all the problems of Manchester United into one small song.

The lyrics point to the fact that Old Trafford is falling down, which works two-fold. First, metaphorically, the home stadium of Manchester United is falling down. It isn’t a fortress for the Red Devils like it was in their glory years. Second, literally, there are many reports of the stadium needing repairs on the roof and overall facilities. The stadium is far away from the other top stadiums in England.
Furthermore, the chant makes fun of the Dutch manager, Erik ten Hag, comparing him to a clown. The references add salt to the wounds of the manager. The Dutch manager has to fight fires inside the dressing as well as on the pitch. As a result, Manchester United is already 8th in the table. They have suffered five losses in the first 10 matches of the season.
This is so embarrassing 😭😭

Finally, City fans make fun of the ongoing ownership issues at Manchester United. The Glazers family has been under immense pressure in the last few months. They chanted that the controversial family would stay for another 10 years, which would elongate the domination of Manchester City over Manchester United.
The video went viral on social media garnering interesting comments from different fan bases. Comments like “This is so embarrassing,” “Best away fans in the league,” “Even though I support United it is kinda funny,” and “Literally having a party at Old Trafford,” echoed the sentiments of the fans.
Fans make fun of the leaking roof of Old Trafford as Gary Neville discusses ownership of Manchester United
The post-match analysis was also not kind to Manchester United. A video of Sky Sports also garnered attention for all the wrong reasons for the English club. In the video, Gary Neville was discussing the future of his former club and its ownership.
On Sky Sports, Gary Neville commented that Manchester United needs something out of this world to turn things around at the club. He hilariously commented, “We need Daniel Radcliffe, not Jim Ratcliffe.” He referred to the actor, Daniel Radcliffe, who played the famous magician Harry Potter in the movie franchise of the famous wizard.

However, the fans were focused on the background of the video. The eagle-eyed fans commented that the roof of the Old Trafford was leaking water onto the stands and field. The video was another damming evidence about the current state of the English club.
Looking forward, Manchester United will play three matches in 10 days in three different competitions. They will travel to Newcastle United in the Round of 16 of the EFL Cup. A defeat in the midweek against Newcastle United will turn the heat on Erik ten Hag.
