Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo paid tribute to Ricciardo’s famous chant after his incredible run at the Mexican Grand Prix. The driver first had a brilliant qualification which got him a P4 start for the race, right behind Max Verstappen.
However, he brought his AlphaTauri team their first good result, a P7 finish giving them 5 points. This helped AlphaTauri move up a place beating Haas in the Constructor’s championship.
After a long time of having no seat in F1, the driver was back and ready to show what he was truly capable of. After the race, he and his ex-teammate, Lando Norris got a chance to give an interview together. The nostalgia brought back a lot of memories for the two including Ricciardo’s iconic chant.
The driver is known for his “kikiki rarara” chant that was first heard during his Red Bull days alongside Max Verstappen. However, this time the Australian saw yet another driver join him in his chant. Ricciardo is heard doing so when he does well in a race or wins one. Therefore, it was a clear indication that he was happy with his result.

Norris replied back to Ricciardo’s “Kikiki” chant with a “rarara” as they both looked at each other and smiled. Although the two are no longer teammates, their friendship has stayed throughout their time together in the sport. While Norris stuck by McLaren, Ricciardo had to wave the team goodbye after a race win.
The Australian continues to hold a record for the McLaren team. He has been the only driver to win McLaren a race in a decade.
The origin of the famous Daniel Ricciardo chant
Daniel Ricciardo’s chant has become a famous occurrence. Whenever the driver is happy with his race results, he is heard chanting it. During his time at Red Bull, his great race results with Renault and this weekend in Mexico. However, the chant is rooted in sort of an inside joke that the Australian shares with his ex-teammate, Max Verstappen.
The Dutchman and Ricciardo have shared a long history of crashes, rivalries, and inside jokes. Both the drivers have been aggressive towards each other as teammates.
However, it never hurt their friendship as it only grew stronger off-tracks. One of the first times Ricciardo was heard chanting the infamous “kikiki rarara” line was during an interview.
The Australian was still driving for Red Bull and was sat for an interview. However, when he spotted Verstappen walking past he called him out as a “mating call” according to the two, in an attempt to grab his attention. The Dutchman did the same and in the process gave the F1 community yet another inside joke.
The two have since then been inseparable as they always cracked each other up during interviews and promotional videos. Many have also titled them as the “best duo” in F1. However, with Daniel Ricciardo back in AlphaTauri and yet far away from a potential Red Bull seat, will the best duo on the paddock reunite soon?
