Travis Kelce is a tight end who plays for National Football League (NFL) team the Kansas City Chiefs. Kelce is known for his athleticism as well as strength. He has a power packed workout routine to build leg explosiveness as well as keep a string core.
Kelce focuses a lot on his lower body and does multiple sets of front squats which is his go to compound movement exercise. He does this with high weight for 3-4 sets with 8-10 repetitions on average. Apart from this he will be doing bicep curls and skull crushers for his triceps.
For his cardio and speed training, Travis Kelce will sprint for multiple sets with decreasing volume. He will first sprint for 3-sets of 40 yard dash with a 30 second gap in between followed by 3-sets of 30 yard dash with a 20 second gap in between. The same will go for the 20 yard dash.
Travis Kelce is a master of his own body and knows a lot about recovery and rehab
Travis Kelce has mentioned a very important thing about incorporating recovery stuff into his daily workouts. He says he doesn’t do them only when injured but on a daily basis. This helps him prevent any future injuries from occuring.
“The small stuff that happens in the training rooms and the rehab rooms, I’ve learned to adapt that into my actual workouts,” he said. “I’m not just doing it when I’m injured or I’m in the training room trying to make something feel better, I’m doing it so that I can prevent anything from happening to my body.”
Travis Kelce also has managed to gather immense knowledge about his own body and it’s functionality. This is why he’s able to understand his requirements and modify them as need arises. He says this is crucial as you won’t always have trainer around.

“You have to feed yourself with that knowledge,” he said. “You have to understand, what’s the best way that I can get my body ready. You’re not going to be around somebody every single time you work out or every single time you train, so you’ve got to take it into a professional mindset and think, this is what I need to do to be ready.”
It will be interesting to note that Travis Kelce had the nickname ‘Trainer Tav’ during high school. He was ineligible for football and was the waterboy. During this phase he learnt a lot about pre-hab and rehab activities and hence was given this name.
