Boris Becker is one of the legends in the tennis sport who made it big as a teenager. His career flourished for over 16 years, and he won 49 titles. Becker won Wimbledon in 1985 and remains one of the youngest grand slam winners on the ATP tour. Over his career, the German player won six grand slam titles and earned $25,080,956 in terms of prize money. But Becker faced legal troubles in his later life.
The former world No.1 served eight months in prison for illegally transferring money and hiding his assets while declaring bankruptcy. Due to his background, Becker will not be able to travel to the UK next season and will miss Wimbledon. Although he won the grass event thrice, a travel ban has been enforced against him for tax evasion.
Interesting – even though Boris Becker is now Holger Rune’s coach, he can’t enter the UK because of a travel ban following his tax evasion conviction.
Which of course means he cant be there for Wimbledon next year. https://t.co/gUxW8YjSxq

Since his release from prison, Becker is back into coaching the next generation of players. He had previously worked with Novak Djokovic from 2014 to 2016. This time, the 55-year-old will be coaching Holger Rune for the rest of the 2023 season. It has yet to be confirmed whether the contract will be renewed next year.
Boris Becker is hoping for positive results with Holger Rune
The 2023 season has almost come to an end. With only a few weeks to go, the top players are desperate to get good results. The Nitto ATP Finals qualification is at risk for Rune. The Danish player has been in poor form since his quarterfinal run at Wimbledon. Rune is currently in eighth position to qualify for the season-ending championship.
A coaching change at the last minute can be positive or negative for the player. Becker’s future as a coach for Rune will depend upon his performances in the next few events. The former two-time Australian Open champion had said that he was proud that the young player had offered him the position. Rune also posted a picture with his team on Instagram, which included Becker.

The world No. 6 will be next seen at the Basel Open, which will begin on October 23. After the Basel Open, Rune will play at the Paris Masters, where he is the defending champion. With Becker by his side, the 20-year-old will hope to find his form and assert his place in the Nitto ATP Finals. The next few matches will be crucial for Rune and Becker.
