Few things go together better than Doritos, Mountain Dew, and a new blockbuster video game. It has almost become traditional to imagine die-hard fans of shooters like Halo snacking on these foods. Much of this started in the 2000s, as gaming got more popular. They became so popular that they had marketing campaigns on par with some of the biggest films.
Mountain Dew Game Fuel, manufactured by Pepsi Cola Inc., was a new kind of Mountain Dew soda that debuted on August 13th, 2007, and was only available in stores for 12 weeks.
As Halo 3 was one of the most anticipated Xbox 360 releases at the time, Microsoft collaborated with Burger King, Mountain Dew, and other brands to promote the highly anticipated threequel.
The Halo 3 Mountain Dew Game Fuel flavor “Citrus Cherry” was one of the results of this. It featured a one-of-a-kind limited edition design of Master Chief on the can, however, it was only available for a limited time. Mountain Dew and Doritos would go on to play an important role in future Halo games.
Halo returns with Mountain Dew Game Fuel
Halo has once again joined hands with Mountain Dew ahead for the Halo Infinite. This collaboration between the two comes ahead of the upcoming holiday season.
Gamers will be excited to learn that the Halo 3 Game Fuel will be returning in November with a fresh appearance. The Citrus Cherry Mountain Dew Game Fuel drink will be available as part of a new Halo Infinite promotion beginning November 6, 2023.

This is a neat little throwback that should make Halo aficionados happy. Halo Infinite will begin its fifth season later this month, so the tie-in couldn’t be more timely.
