Erik ten Hag is under immense pressure at Manchester United due to an awful start to the new season. The pressure has notched up another level after new reports revealed details about the second stint of Cristiano Ronaldo at the English club.
Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United in 2022 by mutual agreement with the English club. The Portuguese gave an explosive interview to Piers Morgan before the exit. The interview burned all the bridges with Erik ten Hag and set up the foundation for Ronaldo’s exit.

Ronaldo’s departure was a big controversy at the time. Now, TalkSPORT pundit and former Manchester United forward, Alan Brazil, has claimed that United players were ‘disgusted’ with the treatment of Ronaldo during the saga.
Brazil revealed: “I was hearing, and you have to be careful what you report on – this is only what I heard from a United player who [spoke to] someone I know very well. He said the players are not having the manager – definitely not. By all accounts, they were disgusted by the way they treated Cristiano Ronaldo and they say [Jadon] Sancho’s a great guy. He works his socks off.”

Brazil not only revealed that players weren’t happy with Erik ten Hag in the case of Cristiano Ronaldo, but he also stated that Jadon Sancho works hard behind the scenes. This adds another layer to the current situation between the Dutch boss and the English winger.
Brazil’s statements revealed that current players do not love the man-management techniques of Erik ten Hag, which puts another hurdle to overcome for the Dutch boss. Since his arrival, Erik ten Hag has been involved in various situations with key players like Harry Maguire, Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, David de Gea, and Marcus Rashford.

Portugal is clicking fast under new manager Roberto Martinez, who replaced Fernando Santos after the World Cup. Ronaldo has started five out of six games for Portugal under the new Portugal manager, Roberto Martinez.
He has regained his prominence within the squad under the new manager. The forward was out of favor by previous manager Fernando Santos, who dropped him in two matches in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
New reports from Cadena COPE point out that Ronaldo wants to play in the 2026 World Cup in North America. He is working to increase his current contract with Al-Nassr till 2027 to stay in shape till the next World Cup. It was earlier speculated Ronaldo wanted to retire after UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany, however, these new reports suggest a U-turn on those plans.
