The much-awaited Forza Motorsport has finally hit the screens of a few early-access players. The full game which launches on October 10, 2023, opened its doors to early access on October 5, 2023. So far the game, which breaks the six-year hiatus of the Forza Motorsports franchise, has been receiving an overwhelming response.
Some users are also encountering a number of issues with the game, which the developers are aware of and have launched a live ‘Known Issues’ page, wherein players can report their issues in real-time. Simultaneously, the developer is fixing these issues in real-time.
So far Forza Motorsport 8 has been mostly providing a stable experience on different platforms and performance modes. However, some PC players are finding it hard to enjoy a stable experience. Several Forza Motorsport players have reported issues, bugs, graphical glitches, and even hard crashes.
How to fix Forza Motorsport not launching on PC?
If Forza Motorsport is not launching initially try a few quick fixes. This includes checking the minimum system requirements, launching the game via the administrator account, updating windows, updating graphics car drives, checking the time and date of the system, and checking for software conflicts and game modes.
Still, if the issues persist, players can try to fix the crashes in Forza Motorsport on PC using the following methods:
Reset the Microsoft Store
Using the steps below, players can refresh the Microsoft Store, clear the cache, and refresh the library permissions. This method fixes the issue a majority of times
- Close the Windows Store app if it is open.
- Click on Start and type the text ‘WSRESET.’ (without the quotation marks)
- Right-click on the command and click the ‘Run as Administrator’ option. Click ‘Yes’ or ‘Run’ if the Windows permission box pops up.
- A black MS-Dos screen will be displayed for a few seconds. Once it disappears the Store will open automatically.
- Now players must try to install the Forza title.
Repair Gaming services
- Open Windows settings, go to Apps, then to Gaming Services, Advanced Options, and finally Repair
- Players must then Reinstall the Gaming Services app on their Windows 10/11 device
- Click on the Search icon that appears in the taskbar, type Powershell, then right-click on Windows PowerShell, and select the Run as administrator option.
- In the Windows PowerShell window, type the command ‘get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers’ and press Enter
- In the same window, type the command ‘start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN’ and press Enter
- Then the players must install the app on that page and select Yes when they receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.
- Finally, players must restart their device and try to install the game again.
Too Many Devices
For some players, the issue is arising due to them signing into their Microsoft account from more than permitted devices. Thus, it is advised to check the device limit and try removing devices that are not in use.
- Visit the Microsoft account site – https://account.microsoft.com/
- Log into the account that is used to play.
- Scroll down to reach the device section.
- Click the View all devices.
- Remove any devices that are no longer in use
- Then scroll down to “Microsoft Store device management”
- Select the Manage option
- Remove or unlink any device that is no longer in use.
- Once the unused devices are removed, players need to restart their PC
Reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ programs
- Press the Windows Key + R, type appwiz.cpl and then press Enter.
- Look for the Microsoft Visual C++ programs in the list.
- Click on each entry and then click Uninstall.
- Download a new copy of Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime and then install it again.
