Inter Miami has displayed a concerning lack of clarity and communication over their talisman, Lionel Messi. Messi is currently out with a hamstring injury. An MRI scan confirmed the injury, indicating that Messi would be out of action for three to four weeks, potentially missing the rest of the MLS season.
The club chose to downplay Messi’s injury by claiming he was “feeling better” and downplaying the severity of the situation. This conflicting information has left fans perplexed and frustrated. While injuries are unavoidable in any sport, transparency and honesty in communicating such setbacks are critical for maintaining supporters’ trust.
One of the most troubling aspects of this situation is the suspicion that Inter Miami is deliberately concealing the severity of Messi’s injury to keep ticket prices high. Since Messi’s arrival, ticket prices for Inter-Miami games have reached exorbitant levels

However, Gerardo Martino, the head coach of the Herons, recently shed light on Messi’s absence, blaming it on “fatigue” and a recurring scar tissue problem in Messi’s left leg. While providing some insight into the issue, the medical nature of the problem has made grasping the full scope of the situation difficult.
Messi was first troubled in the 89th minute of Argentina’s 1-0 victory over Ecuador on September 7 as he was subbed off immediately. Then, he was left out of Argentina’s next match, in which the Albiceleste defeated Bolivia 3-0 in La Paz, raising further concerns for Inter Miami.

Mas revealed, “Messi’s departure from Barcelona was not to his liking; he could not say goodbye to his club that welcomed him as a child, and I think the circumstances were not what Lionel wanted.”
“I gave him my commitment that I will do everything possible in the coming years to give him the opportunity to say goodbye to his fans in Barcelona. Inter Miami will go or we will do some kind of match,” Mas added.
Barcelona’s president, Joan Laporta, has also voiced his intentions to pay tribute to Messi and ensure he receives the farewell he deserves. Laporta has hinted that the tribute could coincide with the official reopening of Camp Nou after extensive renovation work is completed.
