The Rock recently surprised his fans as he made his return to WWE. However, prior to his return, he appeared on the ‘Pat McAfee Show’. There he teased a match with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. Fans became extremely thrilled at the idea. But, now it seems Reigns’ next big opponent might not be The Rock.
According to the latest report by Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is grooming LA Knight for an Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns. It has also been reported that the match might take place sooner rather than later. Thus, The Tribal Chief’s next big opponent might be the returning 40-year-old Superstar LA Knight.

Meanwhile, it has recently been reported that Reigns’ next match will take place on November 4, 2023, at the Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia. Thus, the fans might get to see Knight vs. Reigns at the particular event with the title on the line.
In addition to that, it has been known recently that The Tribal Chief’s next appearance will be on the October 13, 2023, episode of WWE SmackDown. It has also been reported that he will be seen in action in the episode. Thus, LA Knight might confront him on the show. Therefore, igniting a feud between the two will eventually culminate in a match at the Crown Jewel event.

Meanwhile, it is to be noted that Reigns vs. Rock might take place at WWE WrestleMania 40. However, prior to that the former might have to go through another big opponent, LA Knight.
LA Knight previously eyed Roman Reigns’ gold
WWE superstar LA Knight currently has a lot of momentum in the Stamford-based promotion. He quickly rose to prominence, and with his exceptional in-ring and promo delivery skills, he has successfully made a huge impact on the fans. He was previously seen at the last PPV event, Payback 2023, where he defeated The Miz and gained John Cena’s respect. However, his future looks even brighter.
While it seems the Triple H-led promotion is setting Knight up for a match against Reigns, he previously eyed the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Recently, an episode of SmackDown Knight presented a top-notch promo. During that, he said he would be going after the gold. He called out every champion on the roster, including Roman Reigns.

Knight during his promo said, “I told everybody, I said I am coming for gold. So I look at the top of this mountain here in the WWE and I can see all the different options. It doesn’t matter if it’s Rey Mysterio, it doesn’t matter if it’s Gunther, it doesn’t make a difference if it’s Seth Rollins. It damn sure doesn’t matter if it’s Roman Reigns”.
Thus, while WWE is grooming Knight, he has already set his sights on his potential next opponent’s championship. Meanwhile, Knight has a huge match planned ahead of him. The fan-favorite Superstar will soon team up with John Cena to face the team of Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa at Fastlane 2023.

The match might itself open Knight’s door to Roman. A win against The Bloodline at a PPV event is sure to catch Reigns’ attention. Thus, The Tribal Chief might come face-to-face with the winners of the match on his next appearance. Till then, the fans will wait with excitement to see what the Stamford-based promotion has in store for them.
