NFL star Aaron Rodgers has been inspiring numerous young talents with his performance on the field. The star quarterback has been impressive throughout his 17-year career. However, just like everyone else, Rodgers has also gone through a lot including mental health issues, but Joe Rogan’s psychedelics helped him.
Along with his game, Aaron Rodgers has made headlines with his controversial revelations as well. The New York Jets star revealed last year that he was having mental health issues. Rodgers appeared on the Aubrey Marcus Podcast where he mentioned that ayahuasca enabled him to “unconditionally love” himself and others.
“To me, one of the core tenets of your mental health is that self-love… That’s what ayahuasca did for me, was help me see how to unconditionally love myself,” he said.
Rodgers mentioned on the podcast that it’s “self-love” that helps him “love others”. He mentioned that ayahuasca helped him work on his mental health. “It’s only in that unconditional self-love, that then I’m able to truly be able to unconditionally love others… And what better way to work on my mental health than to have an experience like that,” he said.
It’s worth noting that ayahuasca is a drug that can affect an individual’s sense of thinking and emotions. Other than Aaron, UFC commentator Joe Rogan also believes in the use of psychedelics. The two discussed it together when the quarterback appeared on Rogan’s podcast.
Aaron Rodgers’ battle with mental health issues
Aaron Rodgers reportedly went through mental health issues for a long time. The star quarterback talked about it during the Pat McAfee show as well a few years back. During the interview, he mentioned that he used to have a “fear of death”. However, at the same time, he mentioned using ayahuasca to get over it.
“I definitely had a major fear of death… Ayahuasca and psilocybin really helped me with that,” Rodgers said.
The former Green Bay Packers star further talked about the idea of death according to him. He mentioned that death becomes “more of a passage” and less like an “ending” when someone sees the “other side”.
“When you’ve seen the other side, it makes the idea of death more of a passage and less of an ending and more so the next chapter of life,” he added.
Aaron Rodgers clearly mentioned how ayahuasca and psilocybin helped in his mental health journey. They didn’t just help in his mental health journey but also taught the NFL star self-love.
Joe Rogan is a big believer in psychedelic drugs
Just like Aaron Rodgers, Joe Rogan is also a big supporter of psychedelic drugs. In fact, Rogan is an even bigger supporter of those drugs and constantly promotes them. The podcast host has discussed their health benefits many times with his hosts.
Keeping The Joe Rogan Experience’s popularity, his thoughts on psychedelics are reaching millions. As per reports, his podcast gets over 200 million downloads each month. Due to its popularity, Spotify even bought its exclusive rights for a massive $100 million.
Rogan has also talked about his experience with Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) on his show. This shows how big of a believer he is in psychedelic drugs. So, the fact that Aaron Rodgers also used those drugs puts the Super Bowl champion on the team of Rogan.
