Lewis Hamilton has become a major and integral part of the sport. As he continues to pursue his racing in Formula 1, the driver unlocks more achievements. So far Hamilton has become the only driver to achieve 103 wins, 104 pole positions, and 195 podiums in Formula 1 history. This itself speaks volumes about the brilliance of the Mercedes star. However, he has now achieved yet another pedestal that leaves the legends of the sport in awe.
Hamilton first started his career with McLaren. While just in his rookie season, the Brit won his first-ever championship title. The driver then went on to achieve six more championship titles with Mercedes in Formula 1. The Brit has equaled the German legend, Michael Schumacher after becoming the only other seven-time world champion. However, He has now left Schumacher behind with his achievements, in case he hasn’t already done so. Lewis Hamilton has recorded 300 appearances in Q3. This makes him the only Formula 1 driver to do so in history.

With that being said, Hamilton might even go on to surpass the count. It is no surprise, Hamilton signed a contract extension with his team. However, what was to be announced at Zandvoort was only officiated before the weekend at Monza. The new contract will see the driver in Mercedes until the end of 2025. Although this can have Hamilton beating his pole positions, podiums, and Q3 appearance records, there is no guarantee it can bring him his 8th title.
Can Lewis Hamilton beat his ultimate record?
Mercedes has pulled off everything against the Red Bull team this season just to win a race. But with no luck the team has accepted their fate of podium wins. However, with Lewis Hamilton’s contract renewed the team has found new hope. The Brit has brought the team untimely glory in the sport. Even after having Michael Schumacher in the team, Hamilton was what could change the team’s history in the sport. However, in recent seasons, the team has lost their magic.

Although the team seems to be optimistic for the next season. Mercedes has started to put in work to give Hamilton the best car in 2024 to compete. With the new regulations, the team took time to understand the mechanisms. However, they now seem ready to attack with W15. The Silver Arrows team even went as far as drawing inspiration from W11 to get Hamilton his 8th title.
But with Red Bull‘s dominance remaining unscathed for the entire season, it is tough to say what the outcome will be. There is no doubt the Bulls will not pressure the Mercedes cars. Additionally considering the fact that they started preparations for next year far early on. Needless to say, 2024 will either be exciting or just a series of Max Verstappen wins and the Dutch Anthem playing every weekend.
