Amid the trade rumors surrounding Philadelphia 76ers James Harden, a new controversy has emerged with heavy criticism on the franchise President and NBA executive, Daryl Morey.
During a recent press conference held in China, James Harden was seen criticizing Daryl in public, tagging him as a liar' with his decision to no longer continue working together as professionals.
"Daryl Morey is a liar, and I will never be a part of an organization that he’s a part of. Let me say that again: Daryl Morey is a liar, and I will never be a part of an organization."
The video released from the press conference on social media has caused several speculations with such a stunt put up by such a popular NBA player, raising major concerns for the franchise.
Such an outcome was a result of the decision made by the franchise president two days prior to terminating Harden's trade negotiations with his initial request made at the 2023 NBA Free Agency.
James Harden and Daryl Morey have maintained a longtime professional relationship dating back to 2013, when Daryl was appointed the Rockets General Manager and Harden was traded from the Thunder.
In their four-year tenure with the Rockets, both earned their respective achievements based on their performances. While Harden earned the MVP award, Daryl was named Executive of the Year in 2018.
The two were later reunited in 2022 in Philadelphia 76ers, with Daryl appointed as the General Manager and Harden's trade from the Nets on a two-year, $68.6 million deal in exchange for Ben Simmons.
