The New England Patriots are among the most successful teams in the league. While most of the team’s success came with NFL legend Tom Brady, it’s still going strong. Now, the team is considering brand new players who can shine for them, and Dalvin Cook is one among them.
The news of Cook joining the Patriots has been there for quite some time now. The rumors first began when Dalvin Cook was about to visit the New York Jets for discussions. Jeremy Fowler, ESPN‘s renowned journalist broke the news of the Patriots’ plan to schedule a meeting with the running back.
At that time, Bill Belichick, the head coach of the Patriots, refused to make any comments on the rumors. He straightforwardly mentioned that it’d be against the team’s policy if he disclosed any information then.
“Yeah, no, I’m not going to talk about players that are not on our team. It’s a long-standing policy that I’ll continue to stick with,” he said.
Now, Patriots Executive Michael Lombardi has made some revelations about Dalvin Cook signing with the team. While speaking on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’, Lombardi mentioned that both Ezekiel Elliott and Cook might sign with the team in “two weeks”.
“I think Dalvin and Zeke are gonna sign with two weeks to go (before the season starts)… I think both know where they’re gonna go. I think both don’t want to play yet until camp gets over,” he said.
After Lombardi’s interview, it seems like Dalvin Cook will soon sign the contract with the Patriots. It’ll be interesting to see the former Minnesota Vikings star play for the Patriots.
What did Dalvin Cook say about signing a contract with the New England Patriots?
The New England Patriots won all of its six Super Bowls with the Hall of Famer legend Tom Brady. Since then, the team has yet to get its hands on the Super Bowl trophy. However, the four-time Pro Bowl Dalvin Cook can make a change in the team’s fortune.

Though Michael Lombardi has now seemingly confirmed Cook signing with the Patriots, the star player also made some comments some time back. When asked about his plan to join the team, the running back earlier mentioned that he was taking his time. He called his move to join the Patriots “a life decision”.
“I’m just taking my time and being patient with the process. It’s a life decision… for my future. So I’m taking my time and I’m not rushing it and when I make that decision it’s gonna be right for me and my family,” he said.
Dalvin Cook expressed his gratitude for his former team, the Minnesota Vikings. Now, the NFL star is ready to embark on a new journey with the Patriots. It’ll be worth watching whether he makes the same impact with the Patriots as he did with the Vikings.
