According to De Telegraaf, the contract Sergio Perez holds includes a clause that allows his pay to be modified if he falls below teammate Max Verstappen by an agreed-upon amount of points. The agreement that Perez signed in 2022 has been under evaluation recently, and rumors claim that it lets him make a very undesirable transfer from Red Bull to AlphaTauri, which was later proven to be false. Although later a distinct term of the contract came to light that may have an impact on Perez’s pay.
Nevertheless, Helmut Marko denied the existence of such a provision was present in the Mexican driver’s contract. The driver’s title standings currently reflect how the two Red Bull drivers contrast with one another. Additionally, Marko argues Red Bull lacks the power to alter the contract, adding, “I don’t know where that’s coming from. It’s completely out of thin air. The contracts are strictly regulated. There will be no pay cuts.”

For Sergio Perez, the events of the Belgian Grand Prix weekend in 2023 were somewhat better. For the race, the Red Bull driver started on the front row alongside Charles Leclerc after picking up the third spot in qualifying. He finished the race brilliantly with a podium finish and a second spot after his teammate. This pushed up his stance at holding his current position as a permanent driver in the team.
Sergio Perez’s salary: How much the Mexican driver makes from his contract with Red Bull?
Perez made his debut with Oracle Red Bull Racing at the start of the 2021 season consolidating the reputation he had built in 2020 through his driven quest for a spot in the sport. He then signed an extended contract that goes until the end of the 2024 season and received a payout with a rise in recognition of his commitment to the team. ‘Checo’ Perez allegedly earns around $10 million in earnings per season which includes bonuses.

Beyond the association with the Red Bull team, the 33-year-old’s attire features a collection of reputable brands, including Telcel, Telmex, Xades, Tag Heuer, Kavak, Banorte, and Unifin, every one of which makes up all the sponsorships that the Mexican driver receives which adds up to his portfolio and is the reason behind his staggering $75 million net worth.
In spite of the defeat of his previous season’s goals to compete for the championship title, Sergio Perez has now concentrated his focus on securing a worthy P2 position in the Drivers’ Championship, building himself behind the undisputed leader, Max Verstappen. By landing the top two spots in the standings, this sort of feat would count as an important win for Red Bull.
