Arguably the best shooter of all time, Stephen Curry has had a lot of high-scoring games by far in his career. The shooting god has not been out of form for almost his entire career, and one can expect a historic performance from him in any game. But when was Stephen Curry’s highest-scoring game? Let’s answer that query in length.
The game was against the Portland Trail Blazers on January 3, 2021. Curry was the subject of criticism for both his performances and the Warriors’ (3-3) poor start to the season. He made a stunning comeback after their dreadful loss to the Blazers just two days earlier.

As he cut through the Blazers’ defense, Curry sparkled with a variety of dribble moves, scoring baskets from all over the court, getting to the rim, connecting from midrange, and doing what he does best from behind the 3-point arc.
By the end of the first half, Curry had 31 points and he made 18 of 31 field goals, 8 of 16 three-pointers, and 18 of 19 free throws in total. Steph, 32 (at the time), became the second-oldest player in NBA history with a 60-point performance, just behind Kobe Bryant.
Stephen Curry scored 62 points in his career-high game against the Portland Trail Blazers
The Golden State Warriors defeated Portland 137-122 on that night to draw the two-game matchup with the Trail Blazers. Stephen Curry drained a long-range shot under pressure with little over a minute remaining for another flawless swish on his way to a career-high 62 points.
Curry finished the game 18 for 31 from the field and 8 for 16 from behind the arc for the NBA’s highest-scoring performance of that year, 2021. He started with a 21-point first quarter. Steph scored 30 points for the 10th time in his career to help the Warriors lead 66-54 at halftime.
Curry made two free throws with 2:23 left to surpass his old career high of 54. Yet he wasn’t finished. Curry finished off an incredible night by sinking back-to-back 27-footers with the Warriors comfortably ahead. The second of which came with 42.2 seconds left.
With 62 points, Steph Curry set a new career best and became the first Warriors player to score 60 or more points in a game in more than four years. Klay Thompson, the Warriors’ standout shooting guard scored exactly 60 points on December 5, 2016. Thompson achieved the feat against Indiana and was the latest player to reach that mark.
