Terence Crawford’s relationship with Top Rank and Bob Arum has been made a mockery on social media and outside of it on multiple occasions. Crawford, who signed a multi-year deal with Top Rank back in 2018, immediately regretted his decision after the promoters failed to fulfill his demands.
After a breach of agreement ensued, Terence Crawford decided it was time to cut ties with Top Rank and become a free agent. Throughout his time with Top Rank, Bob Arum was accused of holding Crawford back from major fights, with the welterweight champion accusing the promotion of racial bias. Moreover, with better offers outside, it only seemed logical for Crawford to walk out.

Additionally, Top Rank could not stand on their two fights per year deal with Crawford, snatching a million-dollar payday during 2019-2020, where he only competed once.
Terence Crawford’s first fight without the Top Rank banner came as a one-fight deal with BLK Prime. Crawford revealed that he pocketed a mammoth $10 million for the fight against David Avanesyan. He won the first via KO in the sixth round, in his sixth defense of the WBC welterweight gold.
How much money does Terence Crawford make per fight?
Multiple reports suggest Terence Crawford will take home $20 million for the fight against Errol Spence Jr. for the undisputed welterweight title. Back in 2022, Crawford stated that he had agreed to a fight deal with Spence Jr. that guaranteed him $25 million. However, there has been no official confirmation.
During his time with Top Rank, Terence Crawford earned a minimum of $3 million per fight. The welterweight champion pocketed $6 million for his fight against Shawn Porter. It’s safe to say that the fight against Errol Spence Jr. will mark the biggest fight purse of Crawford’s boxing career. The fight purse does not include the share of the PPV revenue.
Terence Crawford is a huge name in the world of boxing, and if the figures are true, it makes him one of the highest-paid boxers today. He is currently a free agent after his fallout with Top Rank and has shown no desire to sign with a promotion as yet. However, it won’t be wrong to say they will be lining up to sign him should he decides to return under a promoter’s wing again.
At 35 years of age, he still has a lot left in his gas tank. If Crawford keeps winning the way he is winning right now, there’s every reason to believe he could become the face of boxing in the future.
