Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. The game is set in the Outlands, a group of planets on the frontier of explored space. It is within the same universe as Respawn’s Titanfall series. Players are deployed onto an island in three teams to be the last squad standing.
Apex Legends’ story mode is not a distinct campaign but is seamlessly integrated into the regular gameplay. Occasionally, events such as “A Thief’s Bane” are introduced, presenting players with fresh story-driven content to delve into. You can team up with other players and play through the story. These events often involve unique gameplay mechanics, character interactions, and narrative developments that further expand the game’s lore.
In addition to these story events, Apex Legends also features “Stories from the Outlands” – cinematic shorts that delve into the backgrounds of the game’s characters.
Apex Legends distinguishes itself with its focus on teamwork and strategy. The game’s unique “ping” system allows players to communicate with their squad and coordinate tactics without using voice chat. Furthermore, each Legend possesses unique abilities that can shift the battle balance. The title provides dynamic and thrilling gameplay.
Apex Legends has continued to evolve and update since its launch, regularly adding new Legends, maps, and game modes. The blend of strategic gameplay, unique mechanics, and dynamic action has allowed it to secure a significant position in the competitive landscape of battle royale games.
How to use the Node Tracker item in Apex Legends?
The Neon Network event in Apex Legends has brought a fresh gameplay element known as the Node Tracker. This component is a part of the Data Node Retrieval system that has been incorporated into the game for this event.
Players can discover special data nodes scattered across the map in the non-ranked Battle Royale mode. These nodes can be hacked to gather specific data, rewarding the player with Compute Nodes. This new currency can be used in a unique shop to purchase exclusive cosmetics. The Node Tracker serves as a beacon to these data nodes. Players can pinpoint these nodes, hack them, and gain rewards.
It is given to all players automatically during the dive to the battle arena and takes place in the equipment slot by default. Players can still equip the heat shield, mobile respawn beacon, and escape tower but at the cost of the node tracker.
Here’s the process to use the Node Tracker:
- Equip the Node Tracker: Once you equip the tracker, guidelines will appear on your screen, indicating the general direction of the node.
- Follow the Guide: Follow the guide; a highlighted area will manifest once you’re close.
- Step into the Highlighted Area: After stepping into the blue area, the upload will begin on your node tracker.
- Wait for the Upload: Wait for the process to conclude. It merely takes two seconds to complete.
- Safety First: Remember, the battle won’t cease while you’re hunting and uploading nodes, so only do this when you’re safe.
- Collect Compute Nodes: You should receive around 880 Compute Nodes on your initial hunt, and you can only collect five per day. By the day’s end, you should have 4500 nodes if you perform it all five times.
