Sebastian Vettel is known to bring in the best kind of results regardless of the type of car he is given but sadly, the driver chose to retire in 2022 right before Aston Martin, the last team he was a part of, stepped up their game and became one of the top competitors alongside Mercedes and Red Bull.
However, as the race day at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is getting closer, fans discovered a video that shows the cut-throat battle between the German driver and Lewis Hamilton from the very same circuit in 2017.
Lewis Hamilton used a slick race strategy to keep an edge over Sebastian Vettel at the Belgian Grand Prix. Vettel attempted to pass Hamilton on the Kemmel Straight, but the latter had other ideas. Prior to the straight, he purposefully kept Vettel close behind him to reduce the amount of time Vettel had in his slipstream.

The first nine or ten laps, according to the Briton, seemed like qualifying rounds while the rest of the race was a calm battle. Vettel expected Hamilton to make a mistake, but his Mercedes rival was flawless the entire race. Regardless, Lewis Hamilton ultimately won the race but the audience cannot get over the intense battle the drivers had to reach the pole.
Hamilton vs Vettel: Fans reacted to the race
Both the driver who received the coveted title of world champion was down in a furious dual and fans still admire that very race at Spa in 2017.
Every time I see them I am reminded

This shows regardless of Lewis Hamilton’s poor performance in recent times and Sebastian Vettel’s retirement has nothing to do with their fans’ enthusiasm for the drivers.
Sebastian Vettel’s glorious days
The four-time F1 World Champion decided to retire in 2023 after an impressive and prolonged career capped by his championship victories with Red Bull from 2010 to 2013.
Early in the season, Max Verstappen overtook Sebastian Vettel’s 38 Grand Prix victories with Red Bull, and he is currently on course to win his third straight championship, seeking the title of Red Bull’s most successful driver. Vettel watches the events of the team’s dominant era recalling his own past influence.
Sebastian Vettel has given Max Verstappen credit for his achievements, asserting that Red Bull’s dominance must not overshadow the Dutchman’s success.

“You have to give him credit, he is performing fantastic. He is incredibly talented and makes no mistakes,” said Vettel at the… pic.twitter.com/d11mdUjhhy
Being part of Red Bull’s young driver program, Vettel has always been favored by Helmut Marko who recently took the harsh decision to fire Nyck de Vries from AlphaTauri mid-season. He has gradually created a team that revolves around him and has benefited from special treatment as a result of this.
Overall, a number of things contribute to Sebastian Vettel’s supremacy, including his expertise as a driver and the strong backing he receives from the team.
