The Red Devils are in the market for a forward as they aim to add firepower to their attacking lineup. The English club is one of several European clubs linked to the French superstar Kylian Mbappe.
United manager Erik ten Hag refuses to comment on transfer speculation suggesting that Manchester United is interested in bringing in Kylian Mbappe this summer.
PSG sounded the alarm this week when they dropped Mbappe from their pre-season tour of Japan. Reports followed that Mbappe has been listed for transfer as the forward has refused to renew his current deal, which is set to expire in 2024.

The Manchester United boss was asked about the speculated loan move in his press conference ahead of Manchester United’s match with Ryan Reynolds’s Wrexham. Ten Hag remained calm and stated, “We never speak about players who are under contract at other clubs.”
Manchester United is in the market for a striker before the start of the season. Ten Hag wants to add a focal point to his attacking lineup, which usually consists of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho.
With Mason Greenwood still not anywhere close to returning to the first team, Manchester United needs to add more firepower as they make their return to the UEFA Champions League. Mbappe could be a dream signing for United, even on loan. The French forward prefers to play on Left-wing, but has the capability to carry the attack as a number 9.
Mbappe and Rashford can tactically work together, as they both can operate in similar spaces. However, the French superstar has a number of suitors to choose from, which will make this move a little complex for United.
Erik ten Hag wants Manchester United to sign a striker as soon as possible!
Erik Ten Hag provided an update to the fans about Manchester United’s pursuit of a striker. Last season, Manchester United scored the lowest number of goals in the top six of the Premier League, with only 58 strikes.
During the press conference, Ten Hag stated, “We are making progress, yeah. But you know how it works – when we have him, we will tell you directly.”
The Dutch manager wants the club to sign the striker as soon as possible to integrate the new signing with the rest of the squad.

Ten Hag explained, “The only thing I can say is we are doing everything that’s in our power to get it done. If it were up to me, as soon as possible, the earlier, the better, because we have to integrate him into the team, the way to play.” (via Sky Sports).
“In an ideal situation, he would already be here, but as a manager, you do not always get ideal situations and you have to deal with the situation,” Ten Hag added.
Manchester United was speculated to sign the highly-rated striker Victor Osimhen from Serie A champions Napoli. However, the club has been priced out of the race. Rasmus Højlund and Randal Kolo Muani are the new top targets for Manchester United as they look to bring in cheaper alternatives to the Nigerian striker.
Manchester United will begin their Premier League season at Old Trafford on August 14 against Wolves.
