NBA fans are calling out Stephen Curry for forgetting about LeBron James in his most recent all-time starting 5 list. As many of us should be aware, the Golden State Warriors star has had many memorable matchups against King James over the last decade. They faced off 4 straight times in the NBA Finals in the years 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.
Therefore, Steph is likely one of the players who knows best what LeBron James is capable of accomplishing on the court. However, not including the 4x NBA champion on his list has garnered Steph quite a lot of flak from fans of LeBron.
While everyone is certainly entitled to their own opinion, Steph is being accused by fans of being insecure and letting his feelings show by excluding LeBron from his list. With that being said, let us take a closer look at Stephen Curry’s all-time starting 5 and find out which players he considers superior to the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
Which players did Stephen Curry choose for his all-time starting 5 over LeBron James?
As already mentioned, this is merely Steph’s personal opinion and preference. However, LeBron fans are taking this as an insult to their star and are heavily criticizing Steph for ignoring the Chosen One. After all, many NBA experts consider LeBron to be either the best or second-best player in league history. Therefore, leaving him out of the list is quite questionable in the eyes of some, “Steph is so insecure.”

We should remember that when in the modern era of the NBA, players don’t really adhere to positional styles of play. A perfect example would be King James himself, who has played all 5 positions at differing points in his career. In any case, here is the list of players that Steph has in his top 5 by position.
- Magic Johnson- Point Guard
- Michael Jordan- Shooting Guard
- Kobe Bryant- Small Forward
- Tim Duncan- Power Forward
- Shaquille O’Neal- Center

It wouldn’t surprise many NBA analysts to see that Steph chose Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, and Shaquille O’Neal. However, conflict arises in their hearts at seeing Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan being selected over LeBron James.
No one would put Kobe over bron if he was alive and that’s just the truth

While Bryant and Duncan have impressive resumes of their own, they aren’t considered at LeBron’s level by many as far as all-time rankings go. This is despite the fact that both of them have 5 championships to their name while being the franchise cornerstone and showing loyalty to the same team. In comparison, LeBron has only 4 championships and had to switch teams thrice in order to win them.
In any case, we should leave it up to fans to decide if Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan deserve to take ”LeBron’s spot” on Steph’s list.
