Former light-heavyweight star Paul Craig made his middleweight debut on Saturday against Andre Muniz at UFC Fight Night 224, which he successfully won by TKO at the O2 Arena in London.

When talking about the official fighting weigh-ins, which took place a day before the fight, Craig weighed a solid 185 pounds (84 kg). But the fighter gained an astonishing 32 pounds overnight.

When Craig stepped into the cage he apparently weighed almost 100 kg, 32 pounds more than the official weigh-ins. Craig stepped down to middleweight after facing losses in two of his previous fights.

'Bearjaw' explained that the reason for it was his pre-planned diet with his nutritionist. He said, "When we did the practice weight cut, we ballooned all the way back up to 99 kg on fight day."

"That's heavier than I was in previous fights; that's because we've stripped all of this fat and done it properly as opposed to not doing a weight cut." Craig felt this was a better version of him.

"I was expecting the weight cut to be a lot harder and was expecting myself to be a lot more drawn. I know my voice still sounds a bit wavery but in a few hours I'm going to be back at 100 per cent."

"Tonight my nutritionist Lee has got me some pasta already made up, I'm already excited. He's been teasing me saying 'I've got you some garlic bread, there's cheers on it as well," explained Craig.

Hence, Bearjaw attributes his 32-pound weight gain to his nutritionist for planning out proper meals for bulking up in a day and also to his discipline in the gym spanning over several months.
