WWE has done a wonderful job building up storylines for WWE SummerSlam, and we are now just a few nights away from the upcoming Premium Live Event. It is one of WWE’s four big events, and this year it has a stacked match card with high-profile encounters.
This year, WWE‘s Biggest Party of the Summer will be live from Ford Field Stadium in Detroit on Saturday, August 5. This will be Detroit’s first SummerSlam in 30 years, and WWE has tried its best to make it a very memorable event. All in all, the match card for SummerSlam 2023 is one of the best in recent years, and fans are pretty excited to see what unfolds at the event. Here is the complete match card for the event, as well as predictions for the matches at WWE SummerSlam.
Cody Rhodes vs Brock Lesnar
WWE Megastars Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar will fight it out in their third match of the year at SummerSlam 2023. Each of them has one win from their last two encounters, and this bout will potentially end their trilogy of matches. This match is among the most high-profile matches on the SummerSlam match card, and Brock’s attack on Cody on the July 17 episode of RAW has made it even more personal.
Brock might be the performer going into the match with a slight psychological advantage over Cody Rhodes, but it seems that Cody will win the encounter to gain some momentum and probably head toward a championship win at Wrestlemania 40.
Prediction: Cody Rhodes wins
Intercontinental Championship: Gunther (c) vs. Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre made his highly anticipated return to WWE at the Money in the Bank PLE and made his intentions clear through a face-off with Gunther. Gunther’s reign as the Intercontinental Champion has been considered the best in recent times, and Drew will give his best to end it.

The two superstars have already been involved in a high-profile triple threat match at WrestleMania 39, involving Sheamus, and it was one hell of a bout. Their SummerSlam match is also guaranteed to be a masterclass, and it will probably tear the house down. But who will win this match? That’s probably a big question. Will Gunther retain it?
Prediction: Drew McIntyre wins by DQ (Gunther retains his IC title)
World Heavyweight Championship: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Finn Balor
Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor is the rivalry that began seven years ago at SummerSlam 2016 when Finn defeated Rollins to win the inaugural Universal Champion. This rivalry will come full circle at SummerSlam 2023, as Seth Rollins will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor.
Balor has already challenged Seth for the World Heavyweight Championship at Money In The Bank but lost after being distracted by Damian Priest. However, this time the danger will be even higher for Seth Rollins, as the Men’s MITB briefcase holder, Priest, can also play an important part in the finish of this match. It’ll also be interesting to see if Damian’s actions become the reason for Finn Balor’s loss, leading to a singles storyline between the Judgement Day teammates.
Prediction- Seth Rollins Retains
Ricochet vs. Logan Paul (Singles Match)
Logan Paul’s rivalry with Ricochet started after their backstage brawl at Money in the Bank. In the following weeks, they were frequently involved in segments on WWE RAW, which eventually led to a high-profile encounter at the Biggest Party of the Summer, SummerSlam 2023.
Both fighters are high-flying performers and don’t really hesitate to take risks. Their athleticism makes this match a must-watch, as it is guaranteed to have some crazy spots. Ricochet is surely the crowd favorite in his match against Logan Paul, but it can’t really be denied that Social Media Sensation Logan Paul will probably win in their SummerSlam 2023 encounter.
Prediction- Logan Paul Wins
Ronda Rousey vs. Shayna Baszler
Former women’s tag team champions Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler’s feud began at WWE Money in the Bank when Shayna betrayed Ronda. Following the MITB event, Ronda and Shayna had a massive brawl on the July 10 episode of RAW, which later led to a SummerSlam showdown between the former friends.
As announced on the July 31 episode of WWE RAW, their match will be an MMA Rules match, and it has enhanced the excitement about their contest. A lot of fans feel that Shayna should get the win over Ronda to gain some momentum and potentially go after the Women’s title, but it must be remembered that reports have revealed that this could be Ronda Rousey’s final match in WWE. So, don’t be surprised if WWE decides to give a happy ending to Ronda Rousey’s WWE run.
Prediction: Ronda Rousey Wins
Asuka (C) vs. Bianca Belair vs. Charlotte Flair in the Women’s Championship Match
After having a historic title reign, Bianca Belair lost her title to Asuka, and now Asuka will defend her title in a high-profile triple-threat match against former champion Bianca Belair and the one and only Charlotte Flair. This match will be the only Women’s title match at SummerSlam 2023, as Rhea Ripley is not scheduled to defend her title at the upcoming event.

This match will be entertaining, as triple-threat matches guarantee uncertainty, and another thing that makes this match a bit more interesting is the threat of Iyo Sky’s MITB contract. The 2023 women’s MITB winner can make her presence felt at SummerSlam and win her first singles title on the main roster.
Prediction: Iyo Sky Wins By Cashing Her MITB Contract
SummerSlam Battle Royal (Battle Royal)
The SummerSlam Royal Rumble was a late addition to the match card of SummerSlam 2023. When the WWE advertised this Battle Royal, LA Knight and Sheamus were the two performers featured. Many believe that both of them will be among the last few fighters in this battle royal.
A lot of fans feel that this SummerSlam Battle Royal has been added just to make sure fans are not saddened to not have their favorite superstar, LA Knight, on the SummerSlam card. Looking at the sudden addition of this Battle Royal to the upcoming PLE, it seems LA Knight will finally have something to cheer about on August 5.
Prediction: LA Knight Wins
Undisputed Universal Championship (Tribal Combat Match): Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jey Uso
Roman Reigns vs. Jey Uso is arguably the biggest attraction for The Biggest Party of the Summer. This match has taken years in the making, and finally, Roman Reigns and Jey Uso will fight it out at SummerSlam 2023 in “Tribal Combat,” which will surely be the biggest match of Jey Uso’s pro wrestling career.
The match is guaranteed to be a hard-hitting fight with a storyline masterclass, but what makes this match even more interesting is the different speculations going around about this encounter. As per the reports, The Rock is rumored to make his return to WWE during the match to cost Roman his Undisputed title. However, the WWE universe is quite convinced that Roman will win this bout.
Prediction: Roman Reigns Retains (The Rock won’t Interfere)
