Apart from the fighters and UFC President Dana White, color commentator Joe Rogan is one of the biggest names connected with UFC. Rogan hosts the biggest and arguably the most influential podcast on the face of Earth, “The Joe Rogan Experience.” He has had several famous guests on his show and over 10 million monthly listeners.
Along with his show and commentary gig with UFC, Rogan is also a famous stand-up comedian. He does sold-out shows on a regular basis, which is more than enough to showcase his popularity. While Rogan has built his fame from the ground up he also has a very famous cousin that he’s never met.
The podcast host is known to keep his personal life very private . Rogan very recently revealed that he was cousins with Gerard Way. Way is the lead singer for the popular band My Chemical Romance and comes from the same family tree as Rogan. This information would still have been kept a secret if not for filmmaker Kevin Smith prompting the question on his podcast.
“Yeah we’re cousins, I don’t know him. We don’t know each other but we’re cousins ” said Rogan. Meanwhile, Kevin Smith was astonished at how two people from the same family became ultra-successful.
While Joe Rogan’s grandmother Josephine Spadone was Gerard Way’s aunt but both are yet to meet each other. Gerard Way also admitted being related to Rogan through one of his tweets which left many of his fans bewildered.
Is Joe Rogan in touch with Gerard Way?
UFC color commentator and famous podcast host Joe Rogan had fans perplexed after revealing he was related to Gerard Way. Gerard Way is the lead vocalist in the emo band ‘ My Chemical Romance’. He is also the creator of Umbrella Academy and Peni Parker from Marvel Comics.
According to Rogan his grandmother Josephine Spandone was Gerard Way’s aunt and they both belonged to the same family tree. However, despite being cousins the two are yet to meet each other.
Had it not been for director and comic book writer Kevin Smith, Rogan would have taken this secret to his grave. Smith also suggested that he should have Gerard on his show where they both could possibly reconnect.
With Rogan’s busy schedule and a huge lineup of guests, it is unclear when Gerard Way might appear on ‘The Joe Rogan Experience.’ Hopefully, it arrives soon and fans get to see the long-lost cousins talk about their different experiences being from the same family tree.
