The realm of mixed martial arts is huge, encompassing several martial arts forms and combining their techniques. The fighters have to become jacks of all trades to survive in the octagon.

Every martial art form runs on its core values and principles. The forms used inside the octagon also follow some values that are not cohesive. Hence, these MMA forms don't align with the octagon.

Capoeira, an African MMA form, is quite graceful in nature, and great for stability. Anderson Silva has incorporated this into his training. But it isn't used in the ring due to its acrobatics.

Krav maga is known for ruthless fighting and finishing the opponent as quickly as possible as it targets the sensitive parts of the body like the groin region. It can't be used as it'll cause disqualification in the octagon.

The Russian MMA form Systema is a defensive combat sport form that includes use of weapons as well. Most people agree with it as the MMA form lacks striking severely which is a crucial part of a fight.

Kyosho Jitsu is focusing on pressure points of the opponent's body. This is controversial because it would be highly impractical for a fighter to stop mid-fight to locate their opponent's points.

Aikido's principles are polar opposites to those that are used in the cage. The fighter focuses on getting the opponent down with minimum harm while the latter is one of the most brutal games.

UFC is an organization of thrills, but many MMA forms do not work in the octagon because of rules and utility. Yet the fighters choose to train in it for its benefits, like stability and more.
