Israel Adesanya and Dricus du Plessis were involved in an intense stare down and war of words at the recently concluded UFC 290. The moment was one of the highlights of the eventful night at the T-Mobile Arena. After du Plessis won the fight against Robert Whittaker, it was clear that the South African fighter’s next task would be to challenge Adesanya for the title.
After the fight, Israel Adesanya rushed to the Octagon to unleash a handful of racial slurs for du Plessis. He dropped several N-words and this behavior from the UFC champion was criticized by many.
The rivalry between the two middleweight fighters started when du Plessis questioned Adesanya’s authenticity as an African. According to du Plessis, Adesanya has spent most of his early years in New Zealand and currently is in the USA so he has no right to use the African label.
‘Still Knocks’ further claimed that he was the only true African warrior in the UFC.
However, in a recent interview, Dricus du Plessis took a completely 180-degree turn from his comments made on the above issue.
Exposing this, ‘The Last Stylebender’ posted a video on his social media which had two clips of Du Plessis combined to prove that he was lying about his own comments.
These niggas just be lying 😂😂😏 pic.twitter.com/TnscL9iejH

In the first clip from the video, du Plessis was claiming that he never used the word ‘real African’, “Please show me where I said they are fake Africans or when I said that I am the real African.”
The clip was followed by another video of DDP doing a post match interview inside the Octagon where he said that he wanted to be the first real African champ.
Dricus du Plessis calls Israel Adesanya a ‘clown’
“Still Knocks” was not at all amused by Israel Adesanya’s behavior inside the Octagon at UFC 290. The South African fighter thought that Izzy’s behavior was childish and also clownish.
Adding to this, he expressed that Adesanya’s behavior was not reflecting the fact that he was a champion. However, he also said that this was not going to affect him as he was ready for anything coming his way.
“I mean, you saw tonight I’m prepared. I’m prepared for everything. Everything he says, anything – He’s behaving like a clown in there,”. “You know, that’s not how a champion behaves. That’s not how a man behaves. He’s behaving like a child; conduct yourself like a champion. – Dricus du Plessis told the reporters at the UFC 290 post-fight press conference.
The feud between these two middleweights have surely caught the attention of Dana White and we may see a title fight soon. It is not made official yet but the two are expected to lock horns at UFC 293 in Sydney.
