Without Wilt Chamberlain, basketball wouldn’t have lasted for as long as it has. The legend was truly an inspiration to several generations of basketball players. He was one of the most dominant players the league has ever seen. Some argue that he might very be the most dominant ever. Just like our favorite stars of today, his career began during high school. After making it to the NBA, he showcased his jaw-dropping versatility on the court.
Wilt won two NBA titles in his career. But his statistics are what people find interesting. He is one of the only players who averaged a career of 30 points per game. Chamberlain was a 7x scoring champion, and 11x rebounding champion and was surprisingly named assists leader in 1968. Standing at 7″1 feet, he was very dominant within the paint. He scored 100 points in a game and once grabbed 55 rebounds (both were the most recorded in a single game).
Wilt Chamberlain had his jersey retired by every team he played with. He performed for the Harlem Globetrotters between 1958 and 1959. During his time in the league, Wilt played for the Philadelphia/San Francisco Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers, and Los Angeles Lakers. The 4x MVP was so successful that Showtime Sports and Paramount+ have put together a docuseries to narrate his story.
When and where can fans watch the Wilt Chamberlain ‘Goliath’ docuseries?
Recently, basketball legends have had documentaries released on them. Most of these documentaries generally portray events that conspired behind the scenes. Showtime recently announced that they have collaborated with Paramount + and Content Cartel Productions to release a docuseries on Wilt Chamberlain. The show is called ‘Goliath.’

The three-part series will be available on Paramount + to any of its subscribers. Its first episode is set to release on July 16, 2023, and it will be followed by two other weekly releases. NBA legend Kevin Garnett, founder of Content Cartel said, “It was an honor and privilege for my team and me to share Wilt’s incredible legacy with the world… GOLIATH is not only a tribute to Wilt’s extraordinary career but also a celebration of the mark he left on and off the basketball court and the world.”
The docuseries will feature other prominent figures who stood beside Wilt Chamberlain on and off the court. Pat Riley, Rick Barry, Bill Walton, Jerry West, and Lisa Leslie are a few of the well-known names to be featured in the series. Even though Chamberlain is no longer with us, his voice will be generated using the help of artificial intelligence, according to the Black Enterprise.
