The superstar of MMA, Conor McGregor, who is often in the headlines, again made the news by doing something bizarre at the NBA finals. ‘The Notorious’ reportedly punched the Miami Heat mascot during the NBA finals. As a result, the mascot had to be taken to the hospital for ER.
McGregor was looking forward to the promotional shoot of his newly launched product, a pain relief spray. Hence the former lightweight champion put on his boxing gloves to put up a show. The incident took place during the halftime of game 4 of the finals between ‘The Miami Heat’ and the ‘Denver Nuggets’.

McGregor landed his signature left hook on the mascot Burnie’s head, knocking him to the ground. But following that, Conor also hit a punch straight to his face, which seemed to have hit the mascot hard. The mascot was then dragged by the staff out of the former lightweight’s reach.
Reportedly, Burnie had to be taken to the hospital. There, the mascot was treated for having a concussion. The video instantly went viral and Conor faced a lot of backlash for the same.
What does Dana White have to say about Conor McGregor?
The president of UFC Dana White recently featured in a UFC 289 post-fight interview. Where he reacted on a number of things from the event. When White was asked about his thoughts on McGregor punching the mascot in the face, White responded
“I saw the Deontay Wilder one too. What’s up with mascots wanting to get punched in the face by professional fighters? What do you expect?… Unless you’re like the golden knight’s mascot, assuming it’s a metal helmet… I wouldn’t have professional fighters punching me in the face if I was a mascot.”
Hence, Dana White chose to stay nonchalant about the whole situation. But people across the world have looked down upon ‘The Notorious’ for doing such an act.
