The career of Ronda Rousey, both as a UFC star and a WWE star, has seen her reach unprecedented heights. In UFC, she became the first-ever women’s champion, whereas, in WWE, she became one of the first three women to main event WrestleMania, alongside Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. The Baddest Woman on the Planet’s dominance in UFC was first challenged by Holly Holms, but it was truly decimated by Amanda Nunes.
At UFC 207 on December 2016, Amanda Nunes, who was in the form of her life at the time, decimated Ronda Rousey in under a minute. The loss effectively ended Rousey’s MMA career. The UFC Hall of Famer then forayed into the WWE. However, it seems that the ghosts of Rousey’s past could follow her into the squared circle. During an interview with The New York Post, Amanda Nunes stated that she could be heading to WWE for an “amazing” contract.
“It depends on the contract, you know? [If she’d go to WWE] If the contract is amazing, why not? What I wanted to do in MMA, I did already — even more than I thought in my head when I went through my whole career. I became a double champion. I wanted only one — I had two … I’m so happy, and whatever comes after I’m done with UFC, we’ll see. For sure, you guys will see me around anyways.”
Amanda Nunes is currently a double champion in UFC, as she is the first person in the MMA giant’s history to hold the bantamweight and the featherweight titles simultaneously. She currently holds both titles and has defended them five and two times, respectively. Meanwhile, Ronda Rousey is currently the Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside another former MMA star Shayna Baszler. The duo recently won the titles and have been on a rampage.
Ronda Rousey’s former rival Amanda Nunes will be in action at UFC 289
Despite the possibility of Nunes coming face-to-face once again with her nemesis Ronda Rousey looming large, the UFC double champion will be looking to successfully defend her Bantamweight title against Irene Aldana. The UFC legend will be looking to continue her undefeated streak at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada.

With WWE being bought out by UFC’s parent company, the Endeavor Group, the possibility of more MMA stars foraying into WWE is large. Nunes could be the latest addition to the list, as several other stars such as Cain Velasquez, Baszler, Ronda Rousey, and Marina Shafir have all forayed into WWE and the world of pro wrestling in general.
Nunes can be brought in as a special attraction, as a threat to Rousey’s dominance in WWE, and to stop The Baddest Woman on the Planet in her tracks. The MMA fighters could lock horns in the future. Nunes, who is 35 now, could be hanging up her UFC gloves soon to pick up some wrestling boots and enthrall fans.
