After facing a similar situation twice a year for flashing a gun in public, Ja Morant's actions have wreaked havoc with his suspension. However, an official notice is pending.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said- "Memphis guard Ja Morant not being charged with a crime for twice displaying a gun on social media will not prevent the NBA from handing down more discipline."

Ja Morant was suspended for 8 games for the March incident in the league. Adam Silver, however, has yet to announce any penalty for his second incident in May 2023.

Expressing his emotions, he said- “Displaying them in a certain context, is not consistent with gun safety and the proper message an NBA player, particularly one at Ja level, should be sending."

With the ongoing 2023 NBA Finals and Ja Morant's incident happening in the same month, the league has not taken any decision on the matter, with Memphis already sitting out the playoffs.

However, on June 1, 2023, Adam Silver gave an official statement on Morant, who is currently suspended from the league, saying that the penalty would be charged after the end of the NBA Finals.

Besides this, Silver has considered deciding without any political view on the matter given the ongoing mass killings in the United States. "This, to me, is an issue of gun safety."

With three gun-related incidents and their investigation by the NBA on him this season, Ja Morant's career is at a lot of risk based on the standard organization policy.
