According to Dave Meltzer, CM Punk is slated to make his comeback on June 17 in the premiere of AEW's new show "AEW Collision" at the United Center in Chicago.

Punk has been absent from the promotion for nearly 8 months after he and others involved in the backstage fight were suspended the night he won his title back from Jon Moxley.

Tony Khan announced that a fight broke out between CM Punk and the Matt and Nick Jackson team, which also included Kenny Omega,

The return of CM Punk to AEW has sparked some criticism, with some fighters reportedly unhappy about potentially working with the former world champion.

WWE's Dutch Mantell believes that Tony Khan, who wants the coordination of fighters, may simply move those who refuse to work with him to a different show, leaving Punk as the face of the new show.

According to reports, Warner Brothers Discovery is paying $500,000 per hour for first-run programming, which means AEW could earn an extra $52 million per year from its new show, "AEW Collision".

Meltzer said CM Punk's role in the new AEW Saturday show, "AEW Collision," is "extremely important." Warner Brothers/Discovery reportedly wanted Punk to be the star of the show.

While the return of CM Punk to AEW has certainly caused a stir in the wrestling world, several fighters and fans have expressed their disappointment with the attention that Punk is receiving.
