Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are two of the best soccer players of all time. The duo has done wonders for their respective clubs and countries.
The impact they have created in soccer is such that the whole soccer fraternity is divided among the two fan clubs that support either Ronaldo or Messi.
In terms of statistics, Ronaldo has the upper hand over Leo, as the former has scored over 800 goals in his career, while Messi is 20 goals short with 790.
However, it can be said that the 2022 FIFA World Cup has changed the dynamics, and currently, Messi holds an edge over Ronaldo after clinching goldware.
Meanwhile, a remark from an ex-soccer player regarding Messi and Ronaldo's G.O.AT debate has raised many eyebrows as he not only states that Messi is the best but also claims that Ronaldo is not even in the top 2.
Joe Cole, during an interview, believes that the Argentine star has put the final nail in the coffin by winning the World Cup and that his legacy will be more impactful than that of Cristiano.
Joe said, "There's always the debate because it's always going to be about what you think. I think what [Messi] has put to bed, though, is the debate of this generation, because he's gone and completed it now, he's won everything in the game."
He further added, "I've never seen a player like him, what he can do with the ball, his ability and it's just a joy to watch him every time. I think he's the greatest player of all time. Pele is the only one who can argue that case."
