Mystery behind Rihanna's Ravishing Red Super Bowl Outfit

During the 2023 Super Bowl, Rihanna took the stage for the Super Bowl halftime show in a multi-layered, red ensemble custom-designed by Loewe.

She performed her well-known hits like "We Found Love," "Where Have You Been," "Diamonds" and "Work," and even hinted she was pregnant during the performance, which was trending all over on social media.

Rihanna's outfit was inspired by "flight gear and the show's dynamic scenography." The first layer of the monochromatic outfit was a catsuit, which was topped by a leather corset that cut off above Rihanna's belly, and over that she wore an unzipped flight suit.

Towards the end of the performance, Rihanna put on a floor-length sleeping bag jacket from Alaia in the same shade of red as the rest of the outfit.

The jacket appeared to pay tribute to André Leon Talley, who died in January 2022. Andre Leon  was an American fashion journalist, stylist, creative director, and editor-at-large of Vogue magazine.

Talley's Instagram account acknowledged the jacket tribute with a side-by-side photo of Talley and Rihanna in their similar garments.

Rihanna and Talley were close friends. They had a playful interaction at the 2015 Met Gala when she wore a custom Guo Pei gown that weighed 55 pounds.

At the moment, André Talley's Norma Kamali coat is being held for auction along with other items from his wardrobe.
