Manchester United is on a rebuilding job under Erik ten Hag after a disappointing end to the season last time and things seem to be going on the right track for the Dutch manager but the club is undergoing a sale process as the United owners, Glazers family have put the club for sale and if reports coming in are to be believed, Elon Musk is interested.
Glazer’s announced their intention of ‘searching for strategic alternatives’ for the club post the Cristiano Ronaldo interview and said that they would be looking for investment into the club and even sale. The news was welcomed by United fans who have been against the American family as they believe the Glazers have ruined the club.
Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world with a massive fan base and potential buyers would relish this opportunity to buy the club. English businessman Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Amazon owner Jeff Bezos and the Qatar Royal family have all been reported to be interested but the newest name to enter this list is SpaceX founder, Elon Musk.

Musk recently bought Twitter and has had mixed reviews for his ownership of the micro-blogging app and it looks like the Tesla owner now wants to venture into the sports industry. Journalist and transfer specialist, Fabrizio Romano recently while talking to the United Stand TV said that even though Musk buying Man United might be surprising, it cannot be ruled out.
He said: “Elon Musk buying #mufc would be very surprising, but never say never”.
Another potential buyer Sir Jim Ratcliffe is a long-term Man United fan and has previously expressed his will to sign the club publicly. Qatar’s Royal family has also been showing genuine interest in the club and now it looks like Elon Musk also wants to buy the club.

Another fan seemed too worried about the news as they think that if Musk buys United, he’ll resort to Twitter polls to make major decisions regarding the club. Elon Musk has been recently conducting Twitter polls to make decisions and the United fans don’t want that happening at their club.
They wrote: “Get him away from this club… already running twitter to the ground. Dont want major decisions made by twitter polls pls”

They wrote: “This would be a terrible idea. It would be a Boehly 2.0. Wouldn’t have a clue and it would be a scattergun approach. I feel the same about Qatari and UAE too. If these owners bring in the right footballing people to run the club, then maybe.”
