LeBron James becomes NBA's all-time points record holder as he surpasses Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's record. James hit a fadeaway to break Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's record, which lasted for 39 years.

When the moment arrived, the game was temporarily stopped to give LeBron James his moment. LeBron brought his mom, wife, and three children onto the court to celebrate the moment.

Adam Silver congratulated him on center court, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who was courtside, showed love to the man who broke his record.

James was presented with a tribute video by the NBA, followed by another video tribute from his teammates and celebrities such as Drake, Rihanna, and Snoop Dogg.

Bronny had anticipated that the historic basket would come on a fadeaway jumper, and after the game, when Bronny went over to his dad and played the video he had taken of the record-breaking shot, Lebron burst into laughter.

“That’s tough, that’s tough,” LeBron James said. “That’s funny.”

"A lot of people wanted me to go to the skyhook to break the record, or one of the signature dunks, but the fadeaway is a signature play as well," James said.

Before ending the ceremony James got a microphone and said "Everybody that has ever been a part of this run with me the last 20-plus years, I want to say thank you so much because I wouldn't be me without y'all. All your passion and sacrifices helped me to get to this point."
