Following the World Cup glory, Lionel Messi is in talks because the expiration date of his contract with PSG is near.

Messi's relationship with PSG started when the Argentinian elite agreed to a 2-year deal for $75 million per year after a horrendous departure from his home club, Barcelona.

According to initial reports, the Argentine superstar was unwilling to extend his contract with the Ligue 1 elites.

Spanish journalist, Gerard Romero said “As of today, Leo Messi’s intention is not to extend his contract with PSG and, therefore, not to renew his deal with the Paris-based side.”

However, this saga brought out a new twist where now it is understood that Messi and the PSG management have come to common ground and that they have verbally agreed.

There is no official confirmation yet on Messi's agreement; however, the fans already believe that Messi will stay at PSG and that they are satisfied with the decision.

Amidst this, a former PSG player has dropped a bombshell, saying he doesn't want the former Barcelona star to be a part of the PSG setup.

Jerome Rothen in an interview said, "The wage bill has exploded...You have the opportunity to recover a large amount of money because Messi's salary...is substantial". Rothen was also unpleased with Messi's first season performance.
