WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin has reportedly rejected WWE's pitch for him to face the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar at the upcoming WrestleMania 39 Premium Live Event.

The 58-year-old made his return to the ring after almost two decades at last year's Wrestlemania where he defeated former Universal Champion Kevin Owens in an impromptu match.

After his impressive outing at last year's event, WWE reportedly decided to give him another go at this year's show but the "Texas Rattlesnake immediately shot the idea down."

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported that after the idea was rejected by Austin, the WWE will now be heading in a different direction for Lesnar and he will now be facing Bobby Lashley.

Fightful Select had earlier reported that Austin was also offered a match against the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns and that pitch was also rejected by the Hall of Famer.

It looks like the veteran is not keen on having another match in the WWE but fans are optimistic that he will have a change of mind and they'll get to hear the iconic "Glass shatter" at Mania.

Brock Lesnar meanwhile has been confirmed to be at the upcoming Elimination Chamber PLE and the Wrestlemania 39 show therefore fans are speculating on who he will be working with at the shows.

While Lashley looks like the obvious choice to be Brock's opponent, a dream match between Gunther is also in the cards as the two stars' recent interaction received a huge reaction among fans.
