Jon Jones is widely regarded as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time. For many, he is the undisputed MMA GOAT.
Recently, UFC legend Vitor Belfort took to Twitter to share his thoughts on fighting Jon Jones, and revealed the mistake he made that costed him the fight.
Belfort and Jones shared the UFC Octagon back in September of 2012, for the UFC's Light Heavyweight Championship.
Remind you, it's the same fight where Vitor Belfort almost submitted Jon Jones with an armbar. Jones survived and ended up winning the fight in the fourth round.
"The fight I almost won, but almost is not a win." Belfort said." "The fight I almost won, but almost is not a win." He further added.
"What lessons I learned: Never let the sheep on you make decisions when it is time to become the LION. PURE aggression, ready to execute the hunting." Belfort recalled.
Having dominated the UFC 's light-heavyweight division for more than a decade, Jon Jones will now look to create history at the heavyweight division.
Jon Jones will take on Ciryl Gane for the undisputed heavyweight title at UFC 285 in Las Vegas on March 4.
