Randy Orton is arguably one of the greatest WWE superstars to ever step inside the ring. The multiple-time WWE champion has paved the way for several young and upcoming talents in the industry.

Former WWE tag team champion and current AEW star Dax Harwood in a recent interview said that AEW has finally found their version of The Viper.

The FTR member talking on the "FTR with Drax" podcast, praised his fellow AEW star Shawn Spears by comparing him to the multiple-time WWE champion.

"He [Shawn Spears] is Randy Orton-esque good as far as putting himself in the right position. Never messing up. Never blowing up. making things look so smooth." He said. (h/t: Wrestling Inc)

Spears in the past has worked in the WWE as he wrestled for the Stamford-based promotion from 2013-2019 under the name Tye Dillinger. He joined AEW after he was released by the WWE.

Spears also had interactions with the Viper during his time in the WWE as Orton in late 2018 gave the former NXT star a brutal beatdown which resulted in an injury to his fingers.

The 41-year-old and his wife Cassie Lee (former WWE star Peyton Royce) welcomed their first child last month. Spears hasn't wrestled on AEW TV since October 2022.

Randy Orton meanwhile is currently out of action with a serious back injury. Fans are now hoping that the veteran will be able to return to the ring soon.
