Alexander Zverev Investigation on Girlfriend’s Serious Accusations

The probe, ordered by ATP in October 2021, focused on claims of domestic violence made by Zverev's ex-girlfriend Olya Sharypova.

Although the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Shanghai in 2019 was the investigation's main target, it also covered suspected misbehaviour in other cities, including Monaco, New York, and Geneva, according to public reports.

In addition to Sharypova and Zverev, LFG also spoke with 24 other people, including family members, close friends, tennis players, and ATP Tour officials.

Along with operational data pertaining to the Shanghai tournament, papers provided by outside witnesses, and public records including newspaper articles and social media posts, LFG also evaluated these materials.

The lengthy 15-month procedure culminated in LFG submitting its comprehensive report to ATP based on the absence of solid proof and eyewitness accounts.

The inquiry was unable to confirm the accusations of abuse or establish any violations of the ATP's on-site offences or player major offence regulations, in addition to the inconsistent comments made by Sharypova, Zverev, and other interviewees.

As a consequence, the ATP won't punish Zverev in any way. However, the ATP stated that it would review the decision "should new evidence become available or should any legal proceedings reveal violations of ATP rules."

To guarantee the safety and protection against abuse of all adults and adolescents engaged in men's professional tennis, the ATP commissioned an Independent Safeguarding Report in October 2021.
