Lionel Messi Wanted to Receive the World Cup Trophy From Maradona.

Lionel Messi is regarded as one of the best soccer player of all time. He has contributed immensely to the success of his nation and the clubs he represented.

The Argentine southpaw has won 5 Ballon d'Or and 6 European golden shoes however, his most memorable glory was the 2022 FIFA world cup triumph.

Lionel Messi had a world cup to remember as he scored 7 goals and 3 assists which had a lion's share of contribution in Argentina's 3rd world cup win.

Nonetheless, one thing that still pinches Messi is the unavailability of his idol and one of the best in the game, Diego Maradona.

In an interview, Messi stated that he wanted Maradona to hand over the World Cup trophy to him. He further added, "if he didn't hand me the World Cup trophy, to at least see all this."

The PSG elite also thanked his admirers and Diego and said, "I think that both he and many people who love me were pushing from above, not only for this but for everything in general".

In the same interview, Messi also talked about his controversy with the Dutch team that occurred during the World Cup, which made some news as he apologized for the celebration.

Messi stated, "And well, when it's all over, I don't like what I did, I don't like the 'keep moving' and all that. But well, they are moments of huge tension, huge nervousness, and everything happens very fast."
