Smackdown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair has been announced to defend her championship against Sonya Deville on next week's Smackdown.

Charlotte made her return to the WWE last month and won the Smackdown Women's Championship on the same night by defeating Ronda Rousey in an impromptu match.

After her win, Flair has been feuding with Deville as the two superstars were recently involved in a backstage brawl on an episode of the blue brand.

The last time the two women faced off inside the ring on Smackdown for the championship, Flair was able to get the victory and take her title home.

On this week's Smackdown, a video was shown where Sonya Deville crashed Charlotte Flair's "Out of Character" interview with Ryan Satin of WWE on FOX.

An angry Charlotte then went to WWE official Adam Pearce for a rematch with Deville and this led to him officially announcing the match for next Friday.

Flair will also have to keep an eye on the winner of the women's Royal Rumble match on Saturday as the winner will be able to challenge the Women's Champion at WrestleMania.

Future plans for Charlotte are unclear as of now and fans expect her to feud with Ronda Rousey when she returns. It'll be interesting to see what booking decisions Triple H will take moving forward.
