Serena Williams Forced Reporter to Apologize After His Rude Question

Serena Williams is one of the greatest athletes of all time. However, with great popularity comes great criticism.

After defeating Lucie Safarova in the second round of the Australian Open back in 2017 a reporter referred to her play as "scrappy" and inquired about her 23 unforced mistakes.

Serena Williams won that Australian Open match with a score of 6-3, 6-4 against Lucie Safarova.

Serena's performance was not her most dominating, but she was never in danger of losing, and most importantly, she advances to the third round.

The first question given to Williams after the match was about unforced mistakes and double-faults, hinting that she had not performed well.

"I believe that is a very negative statement. "Are you sure?" Following his remark, Williams inquired of the reporter.

"Just my observation," Serena was told by the reporter. "You should have been out there. That wasn't very nice of you. You should express regret. "Would you want to apologise?"

The reporter then apologised, and Williams went on to defend her performance, even though no one would have blamed her for leaving at that moment.
